お部屋の演出に大事なインテリアの一つに「照明」があります。
一言に「照明」といっても、デザインだけがインテリアとして重要であるということの他に、全体照明と間接照明の上手なアレンジによる効果をうまく演出することが大事になります。
特に日本人は間接照明の使い方が下手だといわれていて、ホテルや美術館などの間接照明のが効果的に置かれて柔らかな光で部屋を立体的に演出していることに驚かされる方も多いと思います。
実際の照明器具から発せられる光のコンビネーションとアレンジをうまく使いいこなせれば、お部屋の演出が一段上のものになるでしょう。
照明を活かすお部屋や、他の家具との配置のアレンジなど、その場や用途によってマニュアル的な決まり事はありますが、まずはどんな照明があるかを確認しましょう。
ダウンライト
天井に埋め込んで使用する照明。目立たず天井がすっきり見えるのがその特徴です。一般的には床面や壁面などを部分的に演出する照明として使われます。
ペンダントライト
天井からコードやチェーンで吊り下げる照明。一般的にはダイニングテーブルの上などによく使われます。
シーリングライト
天井に直付けする照明。主に全般照明として使われ、天井から部屋全体を照らす役割があります。天井に用意されている電源（引掛けシーリング）を利用して取り付けられるものが一般的です。
シャンデリア
天井からコードやチェーンで吊り下げる多灯型の照明。照明本来の機能に加え、空間を華やかに演出する照明として使われることが多いです。
ブラケット
壁面に取り付ける照明で主に部分照明として使われます。壁面にアクセントを与え、奥行き感を演出します。
フットライト
足元を照らすための照明。主に歩行時の安全確保のために、廊下や階段などに取り付けられます。
テーブルスタンド
テーブルなどに置いて使う照明。コンセントさえあればどこへでも移動できるので、部分照明として使いやすい明かりです。
フロアスタンド
床に置いて使用するタイプの照明。テーブルスタンド同様、移動が簡単で、部屋のコーナーや壁面の演出によく使われます。
スポットライト
天井や壁に取り付け、額などの対象物を強い光で演出したい時に効果的な照明です。
